Story Theatre resides uninvited on the unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, also known as the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nation. As storytellers, we have a responsibility to lək̓ʷəŋən, W̱SÁNEĆ, and all Indigenous people, to the land, and to recognizing the ongoing colonial violence enacted on Black, Indigenous, and people of colour globally. We all have a role in dismantling oppressive systems of knowledge and being. We urge you to learn whose lands you live on (https://native-land.ca/), read the 94 calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and donate to Black and Indigenous led organizations/communities on the lands you live on.
